Terms of Service

Who we are
Kingfisher Grounds Co. is a lawn and garden care company based in Mandeville, Louisiana, serving the Northshore of St. Tammany Parish. These terms cover our quotes, memberships, and one-time services. Booking service with us means you agree to them.
Quotes and pricing
Your rate is based on the lawn we actually maintain, measured before we quote, not on your lot size. Quoted prices are firm for the property as measured. If the property changes in a way that changes the work (new beds, a pool, an addition), we re-measure and confirm any new rate with you before it applies.
Heavily overgrown lawns may need a one-time first-cut charge. It is always quoted and agreed before we begin.
Beds work the same way. Your membership keeps beds edged and weeded. Bringing an overgrown bed back to a maintainable state is a one-time reset, quoted by the hour with an estimate you approve before we start.
Project work
One-time jobs - cleanups, mulch, sod, landscaping projects - are quoted by line item, so you approve the exact list you will be charged for. Approving the quote is your go-ahead to schedule and perform that work at the quoted price.
Projects of $500 or more, and any job that includes materials, take a 50% deposit. The deposit books the work and counts toward the total; the balance is due when the job is complete. Smaller labor-only jobs are simply paid on completion.
If the scope changes once we are on site, we agree on the change with you - a text is fine - before any extra work happens or anything is added to the bill.
Memberships and billing
Memberships are billed every four weeks, thirteen periods a year, so billing follows your service schedule rather than the calendar month. Memberships run on a twelve-month agreement at the rate quoted. If you would rather not commit to a year, month to month is available at a higher rate.
Accepting a membership quote sets up autopay: the card you enter on our secure checkout (run by Stripe) is charged every four weeks, and you get a receipt by email each time. We never see or store your card number.
Prefer to pay by check or cash? That works too - just tell us. Your membership runs exactly the same, paid at the start of each four-week period.
Service continues period to period until you cancel. Your rate is set for your first twelve months. After that, rates may be reviewed and adjusted no more than once a year, always with at least 30 days' written notice before anything changes.
Your rate is quoted to the property as it is. If the property changes - new beds to keep, a pool goes in, the lawn gets bigger - we re-quote to match the new work, whenever that happens.
Your membership runs on its schedule, home or not. The yard keeps growing on vacation, and keeping it right while you're away is much of the point. Visits aren't skippable or credited. If weather or a locked gate keeps us out, we tell you and catch it on the next visit.
Scheduling and weather
Your property gets a set service day and we keep it. Weather that makes the work impossible or harmful to the lawn (standing water, saturated ground, lightning) pushes the visit to the next workable day, and your schedule continues as normal after that. Mowing runs weekly April through October, every other week in March and November, and monthly December through February: 38 scheduled visits a year.
Our guarantee
If your first month does not meet the standard we promised, tell us and we will fix it at no charge: we come back and make it right. After that, if a visit ever misses our standard, say so within 48 hours and we will make it right.
Canceling
Month-to-month memberships can be canceled any time by text, call, or email, with no cancellation fee. The four-week period you have already paid for finishes out with full service, nothing bills after it, and that is the whole procedure.
Annual memberships run twelve months. If you need to end one early, the periods already served are re-rated to the month-to-month rate (about 15% higher, shown on your quote) and the difference is due. There is no separate penalty: you simply pay the rate that matched the service you actually used. Any balance for completed project work remains due.
Worth knowing before you do: your rate and your service day belong to your membership while it runs. Cancel and come back later, and you rejoin at whatever rates are current then, on the next open slot the route has.
Access, pets, and property
We need to get to the areas we maintain on your service day: gates open or codes on file, pets in. If we arrive and can't get in, we'll try to reach you, and we may still bill the visit.
We carry general liability insurance. If we damage something, tell us within 48 hours and we will make it right. Please tell us about hazards we cannot see: shallow lines, septic components, irrigation heads, invisible fencing. We are not responsible for damage to unmarked hazards we could not reasonably know about, or for conditions that existed before we started.
Treatments
Mosquito, tick, fertilization, and weed control programs are active under our Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry license, No. 0051Z4. Every application follows the product label as law requires and is recorded: product, rate, site, and conditions. When a treated lawn needs a re-entry interval, we will tell you the time people and pets should stay off and why.
On Gold and Platinum, if mosquitoes come back between visits, tell us and we come back and treat again at no charge, on the first day the label allows. After a storm, Gold and Platinum properties go first on the route.
Photos and communication
We send a message before we arrive and a photo of the finished work after every visit, so service is verifiable whether or not you are home. By giving us your phone number you agree to receive these service messages by text; reply STOP any time to end them. We do not use photos of your property in marketing without asking you first.
Liability and Louisiana law
Our responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to it, except where Louisiana law says otherwise. These terms are governed by Louisiana law, and anything they do not cover is worked out the same way we run the rest of the business: talk to us and we will sort it.
